The Provincial Exhibition of Plastic Arts is held annually in Camaguey. This important event was named after Fidelio Ponce de León, who was one of the most remarkable representatives of the Cuban artistic vanguard during the 20th century.
Such Exhibition gathers Camaguey's most notorious plastic artists, who by aiming at achieving outstanding prizes, show their best talented works to a cultured and expert public.
Also, many other galleries house collateral exhibitions and varied cultural activities. The event, commonly known as the Fidelio Ponce de León, also includes a Workshop on Theory and Critics of the Plastic Arts, which favors the assessment of the contemporary plastic arts.
